Do you love your local sport? Have a clear, friendly voice? Ayrshire Recording Services (ARSB) needs 5 volunteer Sports Readers to help bring the local sports pages to people who are blind or partially sighted across Ayrshire.
Each reader will look after the sports pages from one of our local papers:
📰 Kilmarnock Standard
📰 Irvine Times / Irvine & Kilwinning Herald
📰 Cumnock Chronicle
📰 Largs & Millport News
📰 Ardrossan & Saltcoats Herald
What’s involved?
🏠 Record from home, in a quiet space
📅 Every Wednesday
🎧 Read match reports, results, fixtures and community sports news
✂️ Edit your recording before sending it to the studio, where it’s added to that week’s edition
What you’ll need:
✅ A clear reading voice
✅ A quiet place to record
✅ A device and basic software to record and edit audio (we can help you get set up)
✅ Commitment to a weekly Wednesday slot
Full training and tech support are included, so you don’t need to be an expert, just enthusiastic!
👍 Interested? Like this post and send a short voice sample to studio@arsb.org.uk. Let us know which paper you’d like to read for.
Your voice could keep someone connected to the game they love. 💚
